Training is highly recommended for a Field Spaniel, whether you and your dog go through a basic puppy kindergarden class or on to more advanced training for “performance events.” At Calico, although we show our dogs in conformation, “Our Show Dogs Work!” and performance events are our passion.

There are many places you can try out any of these activities. However, ALL Field Spaniel puppies should go to a basic obedience or household manners class.  There are many reasons to take the time to do this, but the best reason is that you want your Field Spaniel to become a great member of your family and one that you will enjoy for years into the future.  Basic puppy manners classes will help you learn to communicate consistently and fairly with your puppy, solve minor behavioral problems that may develop, and give you the knowledge to be able to continue working with your puppy to shape the behaviors desirable for your home situation.
